Lookbook · Volume one
Six places, three homes, one studio.
Lorem ipsum — an editorial of the work in the world. Photographed in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and on the parikrama path itself. Painted in Faridabad.
Chapter I
First light, before the parikrama
— Photographed near Govardhan, 4:42 am
Vermilion is the colour I want; ochre is the colour I get.
— Sandhya, on the easel for Govardhan at First Light
Chapter II
The parikrama, walked at dawn
— Photographed barefoot, May 2026
Chapter III
Three Indian homes, three lights
— Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru · 2026
Delhi · Vasant Vihar
Varanasi over the jaali console
Lorem — the painting is the first thing one sees on entering. The vermilion meets the jaali shadow at the same hour every afternoon.
Mumbai · Bandra
Amber, on the stair-light wall
Lorem — a wall the family had been waiting to fill for nine years. The painting is the size of the wall, exactly.
Bengaluru · Indiranagar
Govardhan above a low Indian sideboard
Lorem — the customer asked for the parikrama at first light. The painting was begun on a Tuesday, signed eight Tuesdays later.
Chapter IV
Tuesdays at the easel
— Faridabad studio, north-light hours
A note — from the studio
On photographing what is hand-painted
Lorem ipsum — the photographs in this lookbook are of the paintings, not of the people who own them. Three of the homes are not photographed in full, on request. The Bandra wall belongs to a family who asked that the painting be photographed alone; we honoured that.
